BehaviouralReading looks to achieve outcomes for you, your child or your school that you thought impossible by bringing techniques and technologies that are so innovative and so progressive they probably have not been officially verified by the 'establishment'. We believe in 'why wait?'

Modern Pioneers - It is easy to be a follower but not so easy to blaze the path never traveled. BR are a group who have a vision for the future and believe that far more can be achieved with a different approach, different tools and a different attitude.

 

People -  BR is an eclectic group of people from many disciplines whom believe that changes are needed in how reading is taught, learned and delivered.

Sharing -  BR welcomes everyone and willingly shares its knowledge in a spirit of cooperation and an abundance mentality that may empower others to pursue their dreams

Innovation - BR believes that there is no single cause of poor literacy but that hundreds of identifiable functions are needed for efficient reading and that they can be recognized, targeted, re-mediated and implemented

Computer - BR believes that a combination of computer technology and the human touch make for the best outcomes

​

Rapid Change -  BR believes that with emerging technologies, academic research and innovative techniques, rapid therapeutic change is possible

Exponential Gains - BR believes that innovation in this 21st century should see massive gains in outcomes as are seen commonly in other industries

Medical Model - BR believes that literacy instruction requires the rigor of procedure and method as it is demonstrated in medicine to create predictable and repeatable outcomes that can be trusted.

Intervention Tool -  BR believes that the ultimate creation of a 'tool' that can have technical specifications which can predictably and consistently  create outcomes should always be the objective of the industry.

Many Single Deficits -  BR offers a single place where interventions designed to effect specified changes can be found along with associated research bibliographies

Kaizen - BR believes that perfection is a goal requiring continuous effort towards perfection

​

Reformist -  BR believes that a reformist movement is needed to effect significant change within the education industry to effect substantial literacy gains

​

Cross-disciplinary - BR believes that no longer is literacy just the domain of education faculty but now encompasses others including speech pathology, occupational therapy, optometry, psychology, sport coaching, behavioural optometry, cognitive and neurological sciences and that an intervention should concurrently incorporate all knowledge from these eclectic faculties.

Specialized Knowledge -  BR believes that highly specialized knowledge and training will become ever more demanding and that akin to the medical industry, there will be a role for highly trained 'specialists' that are expected to perform and create consistently high quality measurable outcomes.

​

Specifications -  BR will provide technical specifications to reflect a Single Deficit, the intervention protocol, available supportive research, innovative assumptions not yet researched and supportive data as is available. 

 

Chicken or the egg -  BR believes that the literacy is an outcome of a well built learning brain that can be predictably created with literacy an outcome not the cause.

Schools and Teachers -  BR believes that the current schools and teachers are not quite the right people for this job as modern literacy instruction needs a unique skill set but with our help you can still get great results for your school and its students

​

Primary School -  BR is your perfect partner to ensure every student attains age appropriate reading by the time they leave your care but be sure you have done the Phonological Awareness and Phonics work well. If the students are still struggling, then use POD but not before.

High School -  BR is your perfect ally to ensure no matter what the early and middle education experience has been for your students, that a benchmark of age appropriate reading ability can be quickly achieved in their early time with you.

Global competitiveness -  BR believes that Australia can attain world leading literacy outcomes to a top 5 standard within a single decade by changing its current literacy instruction model to one where an external agency is responsible for the timely, measurable and contracted services.
